THE STORY

The Prophet Ibrahim had a dream where he found himself sacrificing his beloved son Ismail. When asked his thoughts about the dream by his father, the young boy simply said Do as you are commanded. As the moment arrived and the father was prepared to make this ultimate sacrifice, Allah replaced Ismail with a ram. Willing to give up what they loved most, they had passed the test.
HOW WE OBSERVE
Today, we commemorate this sacrifice with a financial sacrifice of our own by buying an animal (or meat), and sharing it with a family in need.
